About the Role

As a Human Resources (HR) Officer your main role is to help manage people across a wide range of areas to ensure the wellbeing of all employees and participants whilst fostering effective workplace relations.

The HR Officer will assist the Human Resources Manager and wider team with tasks such as policies and procedures, recruitment and hiring, employee records maintenance, training and inductions, employee relations, and workplace health and safety.

As the HR Officer your duties will include:

  • Assisting the HR Manager in recruitment activities such as advertising roles, conducting interviews, and preparing employee files.
  • Overseeing the onboarding of new staff and assisting in the development of onboarding procedures.
  • Maintaining employee records and regularly updating compliance registers.
  • Coordinating workplace health and safety initiatives.
  • Assisting HR Manager in the development company ethos and culture
  • Coordinating and maintaining the HR processes and procedures in consultation with HR Manager
  • Assisting with organisation of employee recognition and wellbeing programs and Company events.
  • Producing reports and analytics for HR Manager and wider business
  • Regular use of Microsoft Office and SharePoint

The successful applicant will have:

  • Excellent presentation and professionalism
  • Experience in the disability sector is an advantage
  • Resilient mindset and ability to channel stressful situations to a positive outcome
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environment
  • Excellent communication, the ability to work well in a team environment and independently and proactively
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Exceptional time management and ability to handle competing workloads
  • Be able to pick up processes and procedures in an efficient manner
  • Strong attention to detail

Mandatory Documents: 

  • Full Driver’s Licence.
  • NDIS Clearance.
  • National Police Check dated within 3 months of employment.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with NT Legislation.
  • Any relevant qualifications such as Certificate or Degree in any field relevant to Community Services, Individual Support, or Business.
